A day dedicated to Reading

-Atharva Gajakosh 7 B

On 15th October 1939 a legend was born in our country. The name of this great person was Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Today, being his 86thbirth anniversary we celebrated the day in our school. Our principal activity was reading because Dr. Abdul Kalam loved reading. He said ‘One best book is equal to hundred good friends but one best friend is equal to a library‘. This quote really inspired our students.

We decorated our secondary section with charts and his quotes. Std 5 and Std 6 were given a special Hindu student edition newspaper on the life and works of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Some divisions of Std 7 were also given the newspaper. The English literary club members were taken to the library for reading that special edition newspaper. We were given to write a report, essay or any poem based on the topic. We all enjoyed our day remembering the great mega icon Dr. Avul Pakir Jainnulabdeen Abdul Kalam.
