A FUN FILLED DAY AT DON BOSCO
Krish Jammi 9C

It was an occasion to be remembered, a day of excitement. On 30th August, Don Bosco High School, Matunga celebrated the Bosco Kala Utsav on their school campus. The Kala Utsav is a co-curricular programme that the school celebrates every year; it consists of inter-house competitions like elocutions, debate, quiz, talent hunt etc.
The first inter-house activity was the English Elocution for standard 9. The topics were Plastic Ban for a Better Environment and Honesty and Hardwork – true hallmarks of a sportsman. There were 12 contestants participating and three honourable guests to judge the competition. The contestants gave some awe inspiring speeches and their skill of memorization was commendable. After the short break another enthralling competition we witnessed was the debate on the topic Digital India: A boon. Master Nishant Yadav with his team supported the idea and while Master Krish Fernandes and his teammates were part of the opposition team. The debate had 4 rounds and the opposition team seemed to be very convinced with the idea that digitization is not meant for India. Around the same time of the debate, a few classes had the spelling bee conducted in their classrooms which helps the students to improve their vocabulary.
After the lunch break two more delightful competitions were organized- the Vocals where most of the students stole the show with their magnificent voices and the Talent Hunt competition where students with their array of talents mesmerized the judges. The day ended at 3: 45 with a vote of thanks by Fr. Principal. The BOSCO KALA UTSAV was an overall success. It was indeed a day to cherish.
