Bosco KalaUtsav – a well prepared event
-Liam Almeida 5A
One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in our school is The Bosco KalaUtsav, which was held on 30th August 2018. This is celebrated by the secondary section of Don Bosco High School, Matunga. Great excitement and hurried activities are visible all around. All the participants excitedly look forward for this day. Even those who are not actively involved are excited to have a study-free day in school, filled with fun, frolic and amusement.
The preparations for the Kala Utsav begin much ahead of the day itself. The children get busy with the activities which they have taken part in and the regular practices starts early before the school begins as well as later after school hours. Not only do the children put in hard work, it is the teachers too who put in their precious efforts to train the children in the various activities.
The long-awaited day, finally, arrives and everyone seems to be immensely busy rushing here and there for one reason or the other. This was held at our school premises. There were various activities involved in this KalaUtsav, such as talent hunt, quiz, singing competition, elocution competition, spell bee, drawing competition, debates etc.
I learned a lot of things especially new words from the spell bee competition, some good inspirational poetry on saving mother earth, the songs sang in the singing competition really tuned up my brains. The quiz was basically from the newspapers we get in school.
There were many students who were sad for not making it to the top three. But winning is not everything, one should have fun and enjoy the activity.
