On Saturday, November 16th 2019 we were on a unique trip to Don Bosco, Lonavala. It was a ‘Come and See’ camp for the students of Don Bosco schools to experience the life and works in the apostolic school at Lonavla. Our journey began by bus from Don Bosco High School, Matunga at 7:15am on 16th Nov. We were joined by boys of the nearby Don Bosco institutions and were accompanied by Fr. McEnroe Lopes.

We reached Don Bosco Lonavala around 10:30am. After the welcome by the staff there, we were taken for a good breakfast and then we were assigned our dormitory. Staying in a mixed group allowed us to make a lot of new friends. We participated in many different games and activities. The Fathers and Brothers from the boarding spoke to us and gave us the message of Don Bosco to ‘Dream Big’. They narrated to us Johnny Bosco’s dreams at the age of 9 and 29. The Salesians explained the entire journey to become a Salesian priest or a Salesian lay brother that takes close to 12 years. In the night we were shown a movie named ‘EVAN BAXTER ALMIGHTY’ that made us understand that the call of God comes from inside and it is our choice whether we want to accept it or not. The overnight trip and time spent was a wonderful experience and we left for home around 12:30pm on Sunday 17th November 2019.
