The Mathematics Department of Don Bosco High School, Matunga organised a Maths Fair in the school during the school hours exclusively for a day on Bosco Kala Utsav. A big chart was placed at the entrance, welcoming all to the ‘Magic of Maths.’ The room was full of charts, puzzles, graphs and 3-D figures covering each and every aspect of mathematics in very simple and easy methods into two sections, namely, Charts with tricks and puzzles and 3-D figures. There were a lot of charts showing the easiest way to multiply numbers and square them.
There were different methods to solve a mathematical sum such as the Butterfly Method. There were also informative charts on Indian and Greek mathematicians like Aryabhatta and Pythagoras. Charts had included the history of mathematics and different equations, too. The 3-D figures included a lot of shapes of different characters and sizes.
Both participants and visitors at the Maths Fair interacted enthusiastically making it a memorable event for all.
