Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul.

-Master Aditya Subramaniam

The Men in Red looked sporty and color-coordinated on Saturday the 29th of November 2019 as the 28th sports meet of Don Bosco High School, Matunga was all set to be declared open. The band performances are always much awaited. With the instruction to be present on the grounds, all our bankable band performers took their positions to welcome the Chief Guest , the Members of Management of the school and the other dignitaries that included our Heads and Supervisors and the Principal of Don Bosco International School.

At the stroke of 8 o’clock, the Band Commander gave a guard of honour to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries present. The band followed by the Student Council accompanied the guests with deference till the dais playing rhythmic tunes of flutes, drums and bugle horn. The school band assisted at the grand march past and the salute by the four houses and other troupes by playing the melodious and rhythmic tunes such as The Bombay march, Bharat ke Jawan, Jai kishan and Life over the Ocean.

The band performance is incomplete without the drill display. The comperes introduced our band and students marched up to the dais for an elegant and exquisite drill display. The grand exhibition included slow march, fast march and the drum solo. The innovative aspect this time was the formation of a circle at  the slow march. It was resolute but fantastic The chief guests’ enjoyed every moment of the show and their joy knew no bounds when they saw the drum solo and the grand salute by the commander and the talented drummers. The Principal Fr. Bernard quoted “It was a stellar performance by the band boys under the able guidance of sir Saby Franco.” It was indeed a great experience for the students to perform for the Sports Meet 2019 and a delight for the audience to watch!
