The Bosco Kala Utsav – an array of competitions

The students of Don Bosco High School, Matunga celebrated their Bosco Kala Utsav on Thursday 30th August 2018. It is a competition between the four houses, the Yellow, Blue, Green, Red. The students of Std. IX A witnessed the elocution competition in the Conference hall on the second floor at 9:30 in the morning. The judges for this competition were Mrs. Griselda Fernandes and their very own teacher Miss Christina Mascarenhas, the school’s Supervisor of std VIII and VII and Miss Barbara Fernandes, ex supervisor of Std. V and VI. There were two topics put forth in this competition. One was the ‘Plastic Ban for better environment ‘ and the other was the ‘Honesty and Hard work, the hallmark of sportsmen’. Swayam, Shivansh and Hussain from Green house; Amogh, Manav, Rasesh, Jayden from the Red house; Aldon and Daksh from Blue house and Gurmehar and Andre from the Yellow house participated in the competition. The speech given by Mrs. Griselda Fernandes about the programme was the icing on the cake.
The competition which was witnessed by the students of Std. IX A next was the Debate. There were two teams, one was the proposition team and the other was the opposition team. Judges for the competition were Mrs Poonam Singh, Mrs Parvinder Kaur and Mrs Rijya Ingle. The topic debated upon was the ‘Digital India Boon’. At the end of this competition Mrs. Parvinder Kaur shared her thoughts about the Debate and also appreciated the students.
Last but not the least, the final competition which the students of Std. IX A witnessed was the English and Hindi Vocals. For this competition judges were Mr John, Ms Abigail. The students sang very well and were well appreciated by the judges.
This Kala Utsav ended by 3:30 in the afternoon. All the teachers were impressed by the students’ performances and even the students enjoyed the learning experience.
